9th post

Hi. I am currently reading the sequel to the Hunger Games. It is called Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins. Right now, I am about halfway done with the book. So far, Katniss and Peeta have gone on the Victory Tour, where they go from district to district giving speeches made by the Capitol. It is midway between the Hunger Games each year, so the districts never forget about the ruling that the Capitol has. Katniss met with President Snow in the study of her new house. He is the one who makes Katniss marry Peeta, and he threatened to kill everyone Katniss cared about if she didn't convince anyone that her and Peeta are in love. In my opinion, that's kind of bogus, but it did start an uprising in District 8. They overran the peacekeepers, but later, thousands of peacekeepers came and killed all of them. Katniss met 2 people named Bonnie and Twill in the forest outside of the district. They were from District 8, and they escaped after it was bombed. They are going to try to make it to District 13, where they believe is an underground civilization that the Capitol doesn't know about. When Katniss got back to the fence after she left them, she found that the fence was electrocuted. She climbed up a tree pretty high, and then jumped to the ground. Her mom thought she broke something in her foot, and that she only got a bad bruise on her butt. What I think will happen next is that Katniss and Peeta and District 12 citizens are going to be treated poorly by their new peacekeeper, Thread, and they will start an uprising, but before the Capitol can bomb them, they will go to District 13 and start a revolution against the Capitol and win.

Peace Out, and I'm Out

P.S. I commented on Sam's Lisak Blog ;-)

  2. Hi Blake. I just finished Catching Fire and it is REALLY good. I hope Suzanne Collins publishes the third book soon, because Catching Fire has a very annoying cliffhanger at the end. Anyway, I still loved the book and would proudly put Suzanne Collins among my favorite authors.
