Bloggo numero diez

Hi. I recently started a book called The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd. It is about a girl named Lily Owens. She lives with her dad, T. Ray, who mistreats her badly. She also lives with her "stand in mother", Rosaleen. Rosaleen insulted 3 of the most racist people in town. She dumped snuff juice on their shoes, and stole a fan from the church. She got beat by the most racist guy with a flashlight. They have hitchhiked their way to Tiburon, South Carolina. What I think will happen next is that they will ask around about Lily's mom, bond with a few African-American people there, and start to make a living there.

9th post

Hi. I am currently reading the sequel to the Hunger Games. It is called Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins. Right now, I am about halfway done with the book. So far, Katniss and Peeta have gone on the Victory Tour, where they go from district to district giving speeches made by the Capitol. It is midway between the Hunger Games each year, so the districts never forget about the ruling that the Capitol has. Katniss met with President Snow in the study of her new house. He is the one who makes Katniss marry Peeta, and he threatened to kill everyone Katniss cared about if she didn't convince anyone that her and Peeta are in love. In my opinion, that's kind of bogus, but it did start an uprising in District 8. They overran the peacekeepers, but later, thousands of peacekeepers came and killed all of them. Katniss met 2 people named Bonnie and Twill in the forest outside of the district. They were from District 8, and they escaped after it was bombed. They are going to try to make it to District 13, where they believe is an underground civilization that the Capitol doesn't know about. When Katniss got back to the fence after she left them, she found that the fence was electrocuted. She climbed up a tree pretty high, and then jumped to the ground. Her mom thought she broke something in her foot, and that she only got a bad bruise on her butt. What I think will happen next is that Katniss and Peeta and District 12 citizens are going to be treated poorly by their new peacekeeper, Thread, and they will start an uprising, but before the Capitol can bomb them, they will go to District 13 and start a revolution against the Capitol and win.

Peace Out, and I'm Out

Hi. It's me AGAIN. I finished a book called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The book was very interesting. My favorite character was Rue. I liked how it said she just hopped around from tree to tree. She seemed nice and athletic. She also seemed knowledgeable about plants, which I would kind of expect since she was from the Agriculture district, or District 11. I was really sad when she died. This is my character analysis.

my 11th post, but is actually the 7th post

Hi. It's me, Blak€. I am reading the book The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. It is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen. Her mom and her sister Prim live in District 12 of the country of Panem. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which a boy and a girl ages 12 to 18 are selected to go to the Capitol and fight to the death with contestants from the other districts and the other person from their own. In the drawing, Prim's name was the one picked, but Katniss wouldn't let her go and volunteered to take her place. I predict that Katniss will win the Hunger
Games, and then start a revolution against the Capitol with her friend Gale and other district members. She will be greeted warmly when she gets home, but will probably just go hunt in the forests like she did before. My favorite character so far is Katniss, or Catnip as Gale calls her. She is independent and strong. She has supported her family for the most part after her dad died in a mine accident. After her dad died, her mom went into a lockdown. She didn't move around much, and didn't go out of the house at all. Prim stayed home because she couldn't do much else while Katniss was hunting and trapping with Gale. Their mentor who previously won the Hunger Games from their district is a drunk named Haymitch who is in his middle ages.

By the way Ms. Pietrzak, I posted on Sam's Lisak Blog.

6th post.

Hi there. I just finished a book called The Last Olympian, which is part of the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It is about a half god named Percy Jackson. He is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea. He is battling the Titan Army, led by Kronos, who is in the form of a half blood who turned to the Titans, Luke Castellan. Luke ran away from home when he was young because his mom went insane. His mom went crazy because she tried to become the Oracle of Delphi, but little did she know, Hades put a curse on the Oracle of Delphi in the 1950's which didn't allow her to have another human host. Percy's friend, Annabeth, who is a daughter of Athena, helps Percy fight Kronos and his army.

To help himself defeat Kronos, Percy joins with his friend Nico, who is a son of Hades. Nico takes Percy to take a swim in the river Styx, which gives Percy the Curse of Achilles. The Curse of Achilles gives one unbelievable strength, but gives the person one weak point which a wound to would kill them. For Percy, his weak spot is the small of his back. He almost gets killed by Ethan Nakamura, son of Nemesis, who attacks him there with a poison blade, but Annabeth steps in the way and takes the knife for him, and ends up staying in camp for a few days to heal.

My favorite character in the series is Annabeth. She is sarcastic, smart, has a good sense of humor, and is a good fighter. She helps Luke kill Kronos (which is technically killing himself) because she helps him remember who he is and he ends up killing himself by stabbing himself in his weakspot, which is his armpit, with Annabeth's knife.

5th post.

Hi. I have abandoned Eleven. It was actually really boring. Whatever. I just started reading a book called The Compound by S.A. Bodeen. It is about a boy named Eli Yanakakis. He is the son of a billionaire named Rex Yanakakis. His family is his grandma, his brother named Eddy, his sisters, Terese and Lexie, his mom, and his dad. They fled to a place called The Compound because of a nuclear attack. Eli's grandma and Eddy didn't make it there in time and they were stuck outside. I haven't gotten much more information than that. Seeya later :-b

4th post

Hi. It's me again. I have just started reading a book called Eleven. It is about a boy named Sam. (I forgot his last name. I'll fill you in on that later.) He finds out on his 11th birthday that he was once a missing child, or so he thinks. He finds that out from an old newspaper article he finds in the attic while looking for his presents for his birthday. He has a grandpa named Mack, that he loves so much, but is starting to doubt is actually his real grandfather. I can't tell you much more. I just started reading the book yesterday.

3rd post. (a bit late)

Hi. Sorry I haven't done any posts recently. My internet was down for about a week. Anyway, getting on to the book part. I recently finished the book Evil Genius by Catherine Jenks. It was a long book. It had around 60 chapters. (SPOILER ALERT) It is about a boy named Cadel Piggott, or so he thinks. His actual name is Cadel Darkkon.(just the last name is evil) He is related to the evil Dr. Phineas Darkkon, who is in jail for his crimes against humanity. He created a university made specially for Cadel. It is called the Axis Institute. It has evil kids who have special abilities or have robbed many places. The students they mentioned in the book are named Abraham, Jemima and Niobe(nicknamed Gemini), Doris, Gazo, and Cadel.
Gemini are twins who repeatedly have robbed stores. Abraham is paying to go there and wants to make vampires for reasons that I am not sure of. Gazo has a bad stench that is unhealthy for people and Dr. Darkkon wants him to channel. My favorite character is probably Cadel because it tells about all his troubles, about his family life, the important people in his life, like Thaddeus Roth a.k.a. Prosper English, who is Cadel's psychiatrist and wants him to rule the world. Cadel also learns about what life is like outside of the Institute. The life he chooses to live is______________ (Read the book to find out!)

My opinions (demanded by Ms. Pietrzak)

My opinion on the characters of Everlost is that Allie is kind of a wild child once she gets to Everlost. Nick really embodies the part of being Mary's nemesis. Mary embodies taking away the coins, which actually let the person remember who they are and other things about them. This only happens if the coin is warm when it is in the person's hands. If the coin feels hot to the Afterlight, it will help them remember and they will almost instantly remember who they are.

Question

I'm not sure which book to check out of Ms. P's library. My fave genre is fantasy, fiction, realistic fiction, or sci fi. I'm out. seeya

Review of Everlost by Neal Schusterman

Hi. It's me again. Yet another book has been finished. I read the book Everlost by Neal Schusterman. It is about 2 people named Nick and Allie. They die in a car crash and bump each other on their way to the light of the tunnel. Tey wind up in a world called Everlost. In everlost, anything that has died with lots of love in it or something that someone died on is solid to the kids in everlost, named afterlights. Nick and Allie go to the Twin Towers, or World Trade Center, or whatever you want to call it. There they meet lots of other afterlights and the head one, named Mary Hightower. She has written many books for afterlights to read. They are published by many afterlights who just write the whole book out. It goes on to tell all of their adventures and what happens between Nick and Mary in the end. It is a very entertaining book, and it also has life lessons. I'll leave those for you to figure out. I rate this book a 8.75 out of 10. A very good book by Neal Schusterman

examples

One example of Tony's humor is when Conner and Vanessa are sad and talking to each other, he cracks a joke and really lightens the mood when they were both kind of depressed. Another thing about Tony that is nice is that when Vanessa or Conner are alone, he comes and talks to them every time they feel lonely.
Hello:-) this is my blog for lit. skills and other stuff. I just finished reading a book called impulse, by Ellen Hopkins. It is a humorous book about emo people who tried to kill themselves. The main part of the story is about 3 people's recoveries. Their names are Vanessa, Tony, and Conner. Each of them has different stories from their pass. My favorite character of them all is Tony. He has a good sense of humor and he cares deeply about his friends. I won't reveal much more since I want you to read the book. Seeya!
