Bloggin # once

I just finished a book named Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz. It is book #5 in the Alex Rider series. It is about a teen spy named Alex Rider. In the beginning, Alex was on vacation in Venice with his friend Tom. He is looking for something called Scorpia. It was mentioned to him by a man named Yassen Gregorovich, who said, "Go to Venice, Find Scorpia, and you will find your destiny." Meanwhile, the 9 board members of Scorpia are having a meeting, and one of them wants to retire. The other members send him off with a gift, and when he is in a gondola, he opens it when it is sitting on his knees. He opens it and a bunch of extremely poisonous scorpions come crawling out and sting him everywhere. Then, one day, Alex is just walking around, looking for it with Tom, and he sees a boat with a silver scorpion on the side of it. He chases it and follows it to a house. From a maid, he finds out that there is a masquerade party that night. He sneaks in, and in Mrs. Rothman (board leader of Scorpia)'s office, he is almost attacked by a Siberian Tiger! Nile, who is a member of Scorpia presses a remote, and it is knocked out. Next, he wakes up after Nile knocks him out, and he's in a little cell filling up with water. Once it's waist high, he dives through a loose board on the floor and goes through a well in a J shape. Once he gets to the end of it, there's a grate blocking him. Fortunately, it's rusty and he breaks right through it. He makes it to the surface scratched up, and makes it to the hotel they stay in. Then, he BASE jumps off of a cliff on to the roof of a corporation named Consanto. There, he finds out that people are being poisoned with vaccines. He also sees a man named Dr. Liebermann get killed by Nile. They drive away and the place blows up. Next, Alex meets Mrs. Rothman. She tells him that MI6 killed his father, and she offers him a job, which he accepts. His first Mission is to kill Mrs. Jones, the lady who directed him in MI6. Scorpia sends a letter to MI6 informing them of the power of Invisible Sword. To demonstrate, they tell them that they will kill the English reserve football team as they arrive at London Heathrow Airport without using any weapons. Despite increased security, the team mysteriously dies. Alex sneaks back into England amid the chaos. He then sneaks into Mrs Jones' apartment but intentionally misses Mrs Jones and is arrested by her security guards.

Alan Blunt, head of MI6, takes Alex to a COBRA meeting to figure out what Invisible Sword is and how to stop it. With Alex's help, they determine that Scorpia embedded gold-encased nanoshells into the football players' bloodstream. The nanoshells were hidden in vaccinations and contained cyanide, which were activated by satellite dishes, and when they were activated, the gold wore off because of the frequency they were at and the Cyanide was released into the bloodstream, killing every single one of the players instantly. Scorpia will then kill London's schoolchildren because they had all recently been vaccinated.

Alex agrees to help and pretends to come back to Scorpia. Rothman takes him to an abandoned church; Scorpia's planned to put a satellite in a hot air balloon. At a certain height, they will then activate the nanoshells. Alex activates a retainer with a homing device in his mouth and the SAS rushes to invade the church. As the balloon begins to rise, Alex jumps on the balloon and damages the satellites, causing them to plunge to the ground. Rothman is killed by the falling satellite. near the endof the book, Alex learns that John Rider was a double agent for MI6 and that the bridge scene was staged. Somehow, Scorpia learned that John Rider was still alive and took revenge by blowing up the plane that Alex's parents were riding in. In the last chapter, as Alex exits a building, a Scorpia assassin shoots him in the heart.

One of my favorite characters was Nile. He was like an awesome ninja that was awesome at killing people. it was pretty sweet.

Hi. I recently started a book called The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd. It is about a girl named Lily Owens. She lives with her dad, T. Ray, who mistreats her badly. She also lives with her "stand in mother", Rosaleen. Rosaleen insulted 3 of the most racist people in town. She dumped snuff juice on their shoes, and stole a fan from the church. She got beat by the most racist guy with a flashlight. They have hitchhiked their way to Tiburon, South Carolina. What I think will happen next is that they will ask around about Lily's mom, bond with a few African-American people there, and start to make a living there.

Hi. I am currently reading the sequel to the Hunger Games. It is called Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins. Right now, I am about halfway done with the book. So far, Katniss and Peeta have gone on the Victory Tour, where they go from district to district giving speeches made by the Capitol. It is midway between the Hunger Games each year, so the districts never forget about the ruling that the Capitol has. Katniss met with President Snow in the study of her new house. He is the one who makes Katniss marry Peeta, and he threatened to kill everyone Katniss cared about if she didn't convince anyone that her and Peeta are in love. In my opinion, that's kind of bogus, but it did start an uprising in District 8. They overran the peacekeepers, but later, thousands of peacekeepers came and killed all of them. Katniss met 2 people named Bonnie and Twill in the forest outside of the district. They were from District 8, and they escaped after it was bombed. They are going to try to make it to District 13, where they believe is an underground civilization that the Capitol doesn't know about. When Katniss got back to the fence after she left them, she found that the fence was electrocuted. She climbed up a tree pretty high, and then jumped to the ground. Her mom thought she broke something in her foot, and that she only got a bad bruise on her butt. What I think will happen next is that Katniss and Peeta and District 12 citizens are going to be treated poorly by their new peacekeeper, Thread, and they will start an uprising, but before the Capitol can bomb them, they will go to District 13 and start a revolution against the Capitol and win.

Peace Out, and I'm Out

Hi. It's me AGAIN. I finished a book called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The book was very interesting. My favorite character was Rue. I liked how it said she just hopped around from tree to tree. She seemed nice and athletic. She also seemed knowledgeable about plants, which I would kind of expect since she was from the Agriculture district, or District 11. I was really sad when she died. This is my character analysis.

my 11th post, but is actually the 7th post

Hi. It's me, Blak€. I am reading the book The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. It is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen. Her mom and her sister Prim live in District 12 of the country of Panem. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which a boy and a girl ages 12 to 18 are selected to go to the Capitol and fight to the death with contestants from the other districts and the other person from their own. In the drawing, Prim's name was the one picked, but Katniss wouldn't let her go and volunteered to take her place. I predict that Katniss will win the Hunger
Games, and then start a revolution against the Capitol with her friend Gale and other district members. She will be greeted warmly when she gets home, but will probably just go hunt in the forests like she did before. My favorite character so far is Katniss, or Catnip as Gale calls her. She is independent and strong. She has supported her family for the most part after her dad died in a mine accident. After her dad died, her mom went into a lockdown. She didn't move around much, and didn't go out of the house at all. Prim stayed home because she couldn't do much else while Katniss was hunting and trapping with Gale. Their mentor who previously won the Hunger Games from their district is a drunk named Haymitch who is in his middle ages.

By the way Ms. Pietrzak, I posted on Sam's Lisak Blog.

6th post.

Hi there. I just finished a book called The Last Olympian, which is part of the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It is about a half god named Percy Jackson. He is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea. He is battling the Titan Army, led by Kronos, who is in the form of a half blood who turned to the Titans, Luke Castellan. Luke ran away from home when he was young because his mom went insane. His mom went crazy because she tried to become the Oracle of Delphi, but little did she know, Hades put a curse on the Oracle of Delphi in the 1950's which didn't allow her to have another human host. Percy's friend, Annabeth, who is a daughter of Athena, helps Percy fight Kronos and his army.

To help himself defeat Kronos, Percy joins with his friend Nico, who is a son of Hades. Nico takes Percy to take a swim in the river Styx, which gives Percy the Curse of Achilles. The Curse of Achilles gives one unbelievable strength, but gives the person one weak point which a wound to would kill them. For Percy, his weak spot is the small of his back. He almost gets killed by Ethan Nakamura, son of Nemesis, who attacks him there with a poison blade, but Annabeth steps in the way and takes the knife for him, and ends up staying in camp for a few days to heal.

My favorite character in the series is Annabeth. She is sarcastic, smart, has a good sense of humor, and is a good fighter. She helps Luke kill Kronos (which is technically killing himself) because she helps him remember who he is and he ends up killing himself by stabbing himself in his weakspot, which is his armpit, with Annabeth's knife.
